About me 😊

So for those whose have been following me you are probably wondering what I am all about. Well let me start, my name is Elaine and I live in London with my family and just enjoy day to say stuff.  I like to keep fit, active, take my camara out with my boyfriend and take in the sights of the city we live in.

I also work full time in central London and plus I am a global health and wellness business owner.  My business is with Forever Living which is huge global health and wellness company with a legacy of over 30 years and still growing in many countries  as we speak ! My business allow me to work  and earn anywhere. Not only being a part of forever has changed my health but my lifestyle a little too.

Anyway, I  like to keep busy which is why I enjoy having my own business and working full time . Apart from all that I enjoy going to the cinema, eating out, going away when I can, plus clothes and fashion.

So what makes you tick ? Do you like to keep active or are you more chilled? I do chill out myself, with a book or listening to music. So enough about me, I’m sure I have been waffling on lol. What’s your story?  Can’t wait to hear it! 😊

Cleanse away

I have always wanted to look after my skin, even when I was younger I would always ask mum for her face cream and she would tell me the importance of them all as you get older you will benefit. So I grew up using lotions and butter cream.

So now years older I still abide by those values and try as much as possible to maintain the best health that my skin can be. Having said that the only way I used to cleanse my skin was drinking water (which I still do by the way ), until I became a health and wellness business owner and discovered my aloe cleanser.  Before I used any type of cleanser, I was not really paying much attention especially to the adverts of the stunning model throwing water on her face and suddenly looking brand new, it wasn’t me.

However my aloe cleanser which I can use on a regular basis or once in a while, is great. I only need to use a minimal amount, it super quick absorbant and it light on my skin. I was taken back when I started using it to how soft and smooth my skin felt, but felt cleaner.  I use it mostly at night, especially if I have been  out and about in the busy city where your skin is open more to the outdoor grease and grime.

So, my aloe cleanser is now an addition to my skin care routine ( I shall put it ) and looks like it is going to permanent. 😊

Make up over my years

Ever since my teens I have had an interest in make up, I only really got into the eye shadow, foundation, lipstick  and bronzer  when I got to college. My best friend at the time was like Miss World. She was tall, amazing figure, pretty and of course wore make up and looked like Chanel for the front cover of Vouge  magazine .  So I wanted to make the effort, so I did. I got all sorts and plastered it on like wallpaper paste, even carried my huge make up bag with me and did my make up on the bus, train wherever I thought was needed. I was very good at watching the traffic lights so knowing when to stop and start applying my mascara. When I was at college my make up looked like I was about to go on stage with my four sisters  . I wore bright colours, glitters, stripes and dots. I looked like an extra from Andrew Lloyd Webber- Startlight Express, but I loved it and I assumed everyone else did.

However when I left college and went to uni, it all changed and make up went back to basics. Bright colours were replaced with tonal colours and all patterns were non existent. The bright colours did return for a brief appearance but have yet since gone and tonal, shimmer and highlights are to stay.

So now I carry around one  bronzer, a foundation,  blusher, eye pencil, aloe lip care and mascara. Less is more for me, even though I pass through the bright colours at times in the cosmetic store and think shall I ?

What do you carry around with you ? If anything. Has your make up evolved?

Keeping active

I suppose I am not the only person in the universe who gets a little more motivated every year, especially were fitness in concerned. It’s like you wake up and say yourself I am going to do this, run this long and walk this long from here to there. This also occurs when you have a holiday planned as well. (At the moment my gym is heaving with people trying to get into shape )

Anyway, keeping active does not mean that you have to commit to heavy workouts, intense programmes and run long distances and end up with a stitch within 5 minutes as you feel so unfit.  If you want to keep active, for me it as all about balance. I attend the gym, walk as a much as I can if the weather is nice and use the stairs a little more often at the train station.  If it is  a nice day walk halfway home, or to the next station which is what I do most of the time.

So for anyone who wants to get a little more active, up their energy levels or even just want to change their lifestyle. Just start at the beginning with two  steps and see where they take you, who knows where you will end up.

How my skin survives

Everyone has a skin survival kit. A save my skin range of products which help us feeling and looking human. Like so many others it is important to me that my skin is looked for, as you get older a lot of changes can happen to your skin and for me I like to look after it the best I can.
So hence my survival kit, armed with moisturising lotion, hand and face wash, lip gloss, hand sanitiser and aloe shield deodorant. These bad boys are my saviour and keep my skin  as healthy as possible, as well drinking water daily and getting as much sleep as I can

Each of these serve a different  role.  The moisturising lotion is multi purpose for me as I can use it as a make up base or just every day care for my hands as well as my face. The hand and face wash which sits on my sink, is ideal for  my skin and it not only keeps it’s moisturused but I know a few who use it for their dry skin and other skin irritations. The aloe sheild is great for me as a deodorant, the lip gloss  is my best friend and the hand sanitiser never leave my handbag.

So this is my kit which keeps my skin in check, what’s yours ? What keeps your skin looking healthy?

Can’t digest

Ever since I was born I loved food, I crawled at 3 months for it according to mum. Anyway I have always had a mixed diet, ea ten good with bad and bad with beyond ridculous. As I got older my love was food was getting strained as good wasn’t love returned. Heavy food was giving me indigestion, making me bloat and I was getting frustrated.

So on a quest I was introuced to aloe vera drinking gel which at first I was  a bit apprensive, but thinking about the past years of discomfort I was up for anything to help. After a month of drinking my daily dose I was staring to feel the difference, the bloating reduced and I was able to eat well again. I chose not to eat what upset me and changed my eating habits a little, I was glad I felt the difference and did not want to undo the work the aloe had done for me.

A year on I still feel that benefits, including my hair, skin and nails feeling healtheir. Plus my energy levels and immune system improved, which comes in handy during the cold winter months. I have also managed to convince other members of my family and friends to drink the aloe as well, so far they are happy with it.

So here I  show love for the aloe and for many more years to come.

The heat is on

It comes as no surprise to most of us that if we lead an active lifestyle , our muscles start to ache after heavy activity. You have those days when it feels like you have tiny little drummers drumming on your  muscles, especially when you are climbing stairs .  I know mine do after I use the gym or sometimes walk long distances, like the other day when I walked 4 miles (another story).

Anyway it is always a good idea to look after your muscles as they need repairing after you use them every day, especially during the cold winter months when you need to keep your muscles warm. Plus there is always the possibility that you can experience short or long term damage if not well looked after .

So, as I like to try and lead an active life this heat lotion is just what i need. Not only is it good for aching muscles,  but i also uses it as a decongestant if I get the dreded cold.  I know when I get a cold, it heads straight for my chest and head, which makes sleeping a battle which makes me a cranky lady (not good ).

The heat lotion also has an added bonus as the aroma doesn’t linger for days  (no one wants want to smell menthol all the time ) and is gentle on my skin. I remeber in the past I have used other  brands of heat lotion and they  felt like my skin was on fire, which isn’t the greatest feeling if you want to ease your muscles .

Since discovering this heat lotion I have recommended it to close friends and family, who now swear by it. One of my friends says it part of her ‘Lergie survival kit’ (lol…sorry haven’t heard that word since I was at school ) .  Therefore when  I have to nurse my aching muscles after a touch workout at the gym or a long walk or if I get a chesty cold, this lotion helps me  right out.

Be the best version of yourself

I know we all have days when we winge about our imperfections, what we don’t like and what we would like to change about your bodies.  I know I have in the past, which lead me to try every diet fad in the book and eating more and less of something. In  my teens and most of my twenties I wanted to be taller,  have longer legs , smaller waist, smaller hips and skinnier arms ( you see the long list of wishes I had ). I even used to research what the right weight for my height and what percentage of fat my body should have, it got to the point that I would stress myself out. Despite the fact I was leading an active lifestyle with regular gym visits, classes and walking when I could I felt it wasn’t enough.

However,  when I reached my thirties and I finally decided enough was enough ( plus my mum was getting tired of me asking where the scales were ).  I was doing the best I could to stay in shape and I was leading a healthy enough life for ME. I attend the gym when I can,  keep active by walking as much as possible and eat a balanced diet to suit me and not everyone else.  Yes I eat junk food (I crawled at 3 months for food, what can I say ?) sweets, chocolate and drink the occasional cider, but who doesn’t indulge? You are allowed to treat yourself for being  who you are, living how you  want to live and if it means munching a malteeser bunny on the bus then so be it.

There is one thing that has always stuck in my mind when I was trying to figure it all out, is an ex work colleague who was an anorexic sufferer. One lunch time she mentioned to me how important it was to her to try and eat, especially breakfast.   She said she had to make sure ate something  as at times she would forget to eat. I  remember being sat there thinking about the irony of her telling me to eat properly to aid the body with enough fuel, ‘only silly people skip breakfast she told me . Since then that has always stuck in my mind and I make breakfast the most important meal I can have for the day.

So ladies and gents if you’re reading this, take a deep breath and say to yourself be the best I can be. If you want to change or improve, do it by all means but make sure it is for you and no magazine or anyone else.  I hope everyone can find something they like about themselves even if it’s the length of your arm, the colour of your hair or the way your bum looks in your jeans. Whatever it is, treasure and be the best version of yourself. I am now 37 and it has taken me over 20 years to do that ( yes that me is in the picture last year on holiday. It has taken me that same amount of time to let someone take a photo of me in a bikini ) . I know everyone out there can do it .
